We at the Open Heart Church of God extend a warm and friendly welcome to you. We hope that you enter our sanctuary feeling the almighty presence of God's precious Holy Spirit. We are certainly not a perfect church, but we have discovered the one who is perfect, and the joy of sharing him with others.
        These days, we all need more love and wisdom beyond our capacity. So, we come together and set a few hours aside to learn from God's word. In our worship services, we study the truths of God's principles for successful, fruitful, and love filled lives. Not only to apply these values on Sunday, but in everyday of our lives. New answers to life's questions are revealed as God's word is taught.
        We all come from different backgrounds and walks of life, but we care about one another and find that source of strength in Christian encouragement. When we come together to worship God, we develop a common bond. Likewise, when parents and children come to church together, they are strengthened in their commitment to God and to each other. This is the perfect formula for a happy productive home. When we commit our lives to Jesus Christ as Savior, we have a special relationship that enables us as people to face life's troubles. Jesus Christ said, "I have come that they might have life and have it more abundantly." We must believe on the word of God. He made eternal life and forgiveness available to us when He died on the cross for our sins. You can share the blessings of God and His people if you would simply put your trust in him.

A Little About Us

Statement of Identity: We are a Church of God located in eastern North Carolina. The Church of God, with international headquarters in Cleveland, Tennessee, traces its roots to 1886 in a meeting house located at Barney Creek in the mountains of eastern Tennessee. The Christian Union was organized with eight members. Since that inauspicious start, the Church of God has become an international church with a membership approaching 4 million. The Church of God is a grassroots organization with an appeal to and a concern for the common man and his needs.

Statement of Mission: The mission of the Church of God is to perpetuate the full gospel of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19,20), in the Spirit and power of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4, 6, 13-18), through specific attention to and emphasis upon the centrality of God's Word, world evangelization, ministerial development, Christian discipleship, lay ministry, biblical stewardship, church growth, church planting, family enrichment, and servant leadership.
